a note on personality
Each person you come across in life represents a certain aspect of your personality; they are an interpretation of a part of your personality. This means that a conscious entity has the option of choosing multiple personality paths; they can choose to be one of basically an infinitude of personality types. And so, when you meet someone, you are interpreting them in reference to your own personality, but also to the other personality options you were aware of, but chose not to take. So each person represents a different point on this huge map of personalities, and each time you meet a different point on the map, you associate the point with your own, and you compare it with your own. So that the interpretation of another person’s personality is based hugely out of comparison/reference to one’s own; we should consider outside individuals (individuals that aren’t you) as extensions of our own personality. Projection: which means, when you observe an individual, you are thinking of them as yourself behaving that way, as if they were you, but behaving as they are. That is how we come to think of other people’s actions as similar to our own (cause we think of how it would look if we were doing it instead), by putting them in our shoes, rather then us in theirs.
