I have observed, on two separate occasions, the following: a common house fly landing atop a plastic
food package, corroding away a portion of the package with it's digestive juices, and then eating a sample
of the food inside. The great thing about this is the fly's ability to adapt around the obstacle of the plastic
packaging. Here is this brand new substance introduced into the ever changing environment of flies, and they
just throw up on it, and it disappears! Anyway, I thought it was splendid that flies have this ability.
